Using chalk paint in our bathroom update

We had a new tile floor, new faucet and our master bathroom had really come a long way when we updated it back in April! I painted the bathroom at some point during all the updates, too, so things were looking nice and fresh. Once all that was done and the bright white tub skirt was finished, the tub surround looks really yellowed! It always was that blah color, but boy it really stood out after that. Master Bath Tub Skirt

My husband and I had agreed that it was time to update our bathrooms a bit. Because who doesn’t love an ugly bathroom, here’s what the bathroom looked like when we bought the house: Another, just so you can appreciate exactly HOW purple this bathroom was! We had done a few minor improvements over the last six years, but the big thing we wanted to change was the tile floor. Free {or cheap} rag garland

One of my goals for this website is to share decorating ideas on a budget. Today’s project was free for me, so how’s that for staying on a budget!? Even if you don’t happen to already have these materials lying around, this is an inexpensive little project. My sons had a Star Wars themed birthday party a few weeks ago. I bought this material at WalMart for $2.00/yard and bought two yards. I wanted the kids to be able to dress like Jedi if they wanted. The high September-in-Alabama temperatures kept the kids from really wanting to add any more clothing to what they were already wearing. The ones that…
