Scotchgard It!

I recently purchased two rugs that I really love from Old Time Pottery. They were each 5ft x 7ft and at $35 each, a price low enough that I can feel comfortable buying two. One is in an extremely high-traffic area: under our kitchen table.

I want this area to feel cozy and also to be practical since we eat breakfast and lunch there, and some nights eat dinner as well. I bought two bottles of Scotchguard Rug and Carpet Protector from Amazon in an effort to keep these inexpensive rugs in good shape.

With three kids, two dogs {and one clumsy mom} we have lots of spills and dirt. I gave each of the three rugs in our house two coats of this spray and it seems to be doing a good job so far! I just dropped a little water on the kitchen rug to show that it beads up and repels well.

The can is well worth the $10 for our family.  So if you’re hesitant about adding a rug to your kitchen or high-traffic area, this may be a good solution!

I did use two cans for three smaller rugs but we need lots of mess protection around here!

Oh, and if you keep up with our shenanigans, you may notice that this is, yet again, a different table in our kitchen. I promise I’m not crazy. I will probably write about why the old table was moved and how I painted this free one sometime soon. I do like moving things around, but this set up feels right! For now… 😉

Happy Wednesday, y’all!
